The flourishing of society depends on healthy marriages.  More than anything else, the health and development of children depends on a loving, healthy and whole family. In our time, more and more marriages are ending in divorce, and the institution of marriage itself is losing its value. Many don't even see the point. With the risk of divorce and the existence of so many dysfunctional marriages, many wonder if marriage is a lost cause.  At this key moment in history, marriage is a worthy cause to fight for.  If Christians could accomplish just one thing in our time, supporting, encouraging and nurturing healthy marriages would be an awesome accomplishment.

There's one thing I can say definitively about marriage. It's not easy. I've been married for 11 years, but still am learning valuable lessons, growing in key areas, and realizing just how valuable and difficult real love is. God has been gracious in helping me to continue learning about marriage and about myself, even as my wife learns about herself. I have a compassionate spouse who has put up with me and walked with me through thick and thin.

Part of my privilege as a pastor is to walk alongside couples who are either preparing for marriage or already married to strengthen their relationships. If you are interested in marital counseling or pre-marriage counseling, please reach out to me! I use a combination of resources, but have found Prepare/Enrich to be invaluable in helping couples understand their own relationship. I also highly recommend reading and using the exercises found in Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts
